What does a home EV charger install actually involve?

The install is a single visit from a licensed electrician. They arrive with the charger, mount it on an exterior or garage wall, run cable back to your switchboard, connect it, and test.
Before the electrician arrives
Before they arrive, you have already done a quick verification call so they know your switchboard, cable run, and where the unit will mount. This means the install is fast and predictable, not exploratory.
What is included
What is included: the charger with its 5 m tethered Type 2 cable, the wall mount, and the install labour. If you ordered solar charging, the SC Kit is pre-configured and paired on the day.
What is not included
What is not included: switchboard upgrades (quoted separately if needed), extra-long cable runs, or a sub-board if your existing board is full. We flag these on the verification call before you commit.
After the install
After the install, the electrician lodges a Certificate of Compliance with your state regulator and we pair the charger to your app. You are charging that night.

- CompatibilityWill the NEO charge a Tesla Model Y?Yes: on single phase up to 7 kW. Here is what to expect on range, time, and switchboard limits.
- CompatibilityCan I charge my EV on solar without a battery?Yes, and it is the most common setup. The charger just diverts excess solar to your car instead of exporting to the grid.
Your install starts with a verification call, not a site visit.
Add fixed-price installation when you order. An electrician calls to confirm your switchboard and cable run before anything is booked.
