Will the NEO charge a Tesla Model Y?

The headline number

The Tesla Model Y sold in Australia draws up to 11 kW from a three-phase supply. That is the headline number, and it is what most people quote when they ask if our hardware will "keep up." The honest answer is that the car never charges faster than its own 11 kW limit, whatever the wall box.

The everyday choice

The NEO in its 7 kW single-phase config is the everyday choice. Plugged into a standard single-phase circuit, it delivers up to 7 kW into the car's Type 2 port, roughly 44 km of range per hour. From 7 percent to 80 percent is an overnight charge on off-peak power.

What three-phase changes

If your place has a three-phase supply, the NEO also runs in a 22 kW config. The Model Y caps its onboard charger at 11 kW, so any output above that is speed the car cannot use. Our recommendation for Model Y owners: the 7 kW config on standard single-phase power. The real choice is how the unit is ordered: tethered with the 5 m cable, or untethered if you would rather use your own lead.

The switchboard check

The practical question becomes: does your switchboard have a spare single-phase slot, within 10 m of where the unit will mount? If yes, a standard install is straightforward. If no, we will quote the switchboard work separately on the verification call, before any commitment.

To order: pick the NEO in the 7 kW config, add fixed-price installation in the buy box, and we will confirm the power config on the verification call once you tell us the car.

Know your car. We will match the charger.

Check your model in the compatibility tool, then order the NEO with the right power option. We confirm everything on the verification call before install day.
